Early voting begins Saturday. That's also the last day to register, and request a mail-in ballot

Early voting for the June 2025 primaries runs June 14-22. Election Day is June 24.

Early voting begins Saturday for local primary races, including for Rochester mayor and City Council as well as the city school board.

There also are primaries for Brighton Town Board and a Monroe County Legislature seat in Chili.

Voting locations:

  • Monroe County Office Building, 39 W. Main St., Rochester. Public entrances on South Fitzhugh Street or Irvine Place. ADA entrance on Irvine Place. (ASL interpreter available) 
  • Edgerton Rec Center, 41 Backus St., Rochester. 
  • David F. Gantt Center, 700 North St., Rochester. 
  • Staybridge Suites Rochester University, 1000 Genesee St., Rochester. 
  • Brighton Winter Farmer’s Market Barn, 1435 Westfall Road, Brighton (ASL interpeter available) 
  • Johnson Park Lodge, 5 Brown's Ave., Scottsville. 
  • Chili Town Hall, 3333 Chili Ave., Chili. 

Early voting runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this weekend, and on Monday, Wednesday and next Friday. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Saturday also is the deadline to register to vote, and to apply for an absentee or early mail-in ballot. All early voting locations have absentee/early vote by mail ballot drop boxes.

There are new voting machines this year. You can watch a tutorial video on the Board of Elections website, or by clicking here. Voters also should have received a letter with their polling information.

Primary Election Day is June 24, when polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The candidates — City Councilmember Mary Lupien, businessman and IT executive Shashi Sinha, and incumbent Malik Evans — debated the issues Wednesday.
