Fire At A Village Gate Apartment

TWC News

The investigation continues into the cause of a fire at an apartment at the Village Gate Square complex on Saturday night.

It happened at that North Goodman Street location at around 10 pm after someone in a restaurant below the apartment reported smelling smoke.  Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a third floor apartment.

It took about 40 minutes to get the fire out. A fire official tells Time Warner Cable News that it was a labor intensive search and rescue effort to make sure everyone got out safely. At least one of the housing units had a lot of fire damage.

One firefighter injured his arm while fighting the fire.
