RTS Responds to Viral Video of Removed Passenger

A viral You Tube video featuring a dispute with an RTS passenger has gotten more than 10,000 hits. The passenger and two young children were removed from an RTS bus on Tuesday amid the shouts and protests of fellow passengers.

The woman reportedly paid her fare when boarding the bus, and gave her fare card to a man who helped her load a stroller onto the bus.

The bus driver reportedly told her she was not allowed to share her card with anyone. The video appears to show a police officer and RTS officials removing the woman and children from the bus.

This happened Tuesday night during heavy thunderstorms in the area.  RTS says the woman and her two children were driven home by an RTS employee.

RTS says the bus driver is a long-time RTS employee in good standing who took appropriate action as he was trained to do. The bus company says fraudulent pass use happens daily and is typically resolved without incident, but this incident escalated.
