Thompson Hospital imposes visitor restrictions due to flu

A Canandaigua hospital has imposed visitor restrictions due to the flu.

Thompson Health, which is part of UR Medicine, and the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center have implemented restrictions which include:

--Each patient or resident is limited to three visitors at a time.

--Visitors under 14 are not permitted, but exceptions may be made at the discretion of officials.

--Anyone with symptoms of flu or a similar illness are asked to refrain from visiting until they have been symptom-free for at least 24 hours.

Similar restrictions were imposed recently at other UR Medicine hospitals and at the Rochester Regional Health System.
