Wind Advisory, Colder Temperatures

Expect a windy day Sunday and much of Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo. Rain could be heavy at times Sunday morning.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 2 pm Sunday to 4 am Monday. Forecasters expect winds from the west at 30 to 40 mph, with gusts to 50 mph.

They warn a few tree limbs could come down, and could take power lines with them, and it might be difficult to travel in high profile vehicles at times.

The National Weather Service is also cautioning drivers in several area counties to watch out for the possible rapid formation of black ice Sundy afternoon and evening.

Lake effect snow is forecast for tonight, with accumulation of an inch or less.

Temperatures will plummet from a high near 50 Sunday morning into the teens by Monday morning. Monday's high temperature could be nearly 30 degrees colder than Sunday.

More lake snow is expected Tuesday through Thursday, according to the weather service.
