Kodak and an Illinois company called Recycled Energy Development say they have finalized a deal involving the utilities provided at that business park.
The Illinois company is acquiring the current coal fired plant and will convert it to natural gas. Recycled Energy Development says it plans to make significant investments in the facility over the next five years in a variety of energy efficiency projects. The business park now has more than 40 tenants.
The Illinois firm had earlier said it plans to invest 40 to 80 million dollars in the project. It plans to use the Eastman Business Park as a model for how industrial facilities around the country can meet new environmental standards.
