Monroe County reports 298 new COVID-19 cases

The latest COVID-19 data for Monroe County released on Saturday shows 298 new cases and no new deaths.

The seven-day rolling average of new cases is 249 new cases per day.

As has been the case for week, most of the new cases are in people under 60 years old.

The seven-day rolling average positivity rate for Monroe County is 3.4%. That is the highest it’s been since Feb. 1.

Statewide, the seven-day average positivity rate stands at 3.03%.  Gov. Andrew Cuomo said that the number of hospitalizations across the state dropped to 3,834, the lowest number since Nov. 30.

In Monroe County, 44.7% of the population has had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Statewide, that number is 40.9%.  The number of New Yorkers who have had the completed vaccine series is 27.6%.
