Conduent to cut 187 positions in Webster and Rochester

Conduent, the business services company that was spun off from Xerox several months ago, is cutting 187 employees in the Rochester area.

The company says that 128 employees will be  laid off in Webster and 59 in Rochester, as part of the company’s previously  announced strategic transformation initiative.

Conduent issued a statement which said, “This decision will enable greater operational efficiencies and support our long-term growth and profitability plan. Conduent will continue to invest in Monroe County and have employees in the greater Rochester area."

Conduent says it continues with plans to move its call center operations from Webster to leased space at the former Macy’s building at Medley Centre.

Earlier this year, Conduent announced it was moving 400 call center jobs from Webster to the former Macy’s, and the developer said the company is expected to eventually another 350 jobs at that building.
