There were still several flights canceled Thursday at the Rochester Airport. Most flights were canceled Wednesday. Airport director Mike Giardino says the airport remained open, but a number of airlines decided to cancel their flights because of uncertainty about the weather.
Because of that, some planes are in the wrong place, and that helped lead to some of the flights still being canceled today. He says make sure you check ahead if you plan to fly out today.
"I would recommend to everyone to check with their airline, number one, then they can actually go to our website, but the airline is the best source of information and certainly don't get on the roads and come to the airport if your airplane's not scheduled to go out."
Most of the airports across Upstate New York saw a lot of cancelations yesterday, and some major hubs, like Chicago, were also impacted.
