Add the University of Rochester’s annual Meliora Weekend that will not be held this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
That event includes reunion and homecoming activities and usually features nationally known speakers in politics, arts and entertainment.
It would have been held in October, but UR’s Senior Vice President for University Advancement, Thomas Farrell wrote in an open letterto the university community that with so much uncertainty due to the pandemic, “it’s hard to imagine a quick return to the large-scale social activities we all enjoy.”
Farrrell also said that, “This was not an easy decision to make, but it is the responsible one given the public health concerns and the fiscal constraints the University is currently experiencing. We hope to move 2020 Reunion celebrations to June 2021, and plan to host our traditional Meliora Weekend in October 2021.”
