The Rochester City Board of Education may need more time to respond to a report asking for big changes.
Distinguished Educator Jamie Aquino wrote the report, which is a critical look at the City School District that asks for a total reset in district management, finances and educational outcomes.
The school board is expected to complete an action plan by Feb. 8.
But School Board President Van White says he’s concerned that a couple of months is too little time to revamp the entire district.
“Just the notion that we would be asked to put something this important together, if it’s as important as they say it is, in two months time borders on the impossible. But we’ll do it.”
The state education department plans to take further action against the district if the response does not meet expectations.
