The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says it will be restricting access to its facilities including the jail as part of efforts to guard against the coronavirus.
Sheriff Todd Baxter canceled Monroe County Jail inmate visitations and non-essential service related to contact visits until further notice.
Also, effective immediately, the Monroe County Public Safety Building and MCSO Zone substations are closed to non-essential business.
The sheriff’s office will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with the county health department.
