New Seneca Lake cottages ready to rent

NYS Parks

10 new vacation cottages are ready to be rented on Seneca Lake.

The $2.9 million project features one and two bedroom cottages with full service kitchenettes, bathrooms, showers and covered outdoor decks in Sampson State Park. The cottages rest on a slope overlooking the lake adjacent to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail.

The funding comes from Governor Cuomo's Finger Lakes Forward and New York Parks 2020 initiatives.

Fred Bonn, Regional Director for the Finger Lakes State Parks said the cottages were built to enhance tourism in the area.

"They were constructed to make a stronger link for the park to the areas wine trails and beverage trails. To be able to offer accommodations to people traveling into to the Finger Lakes for the outdoor recreation, the culinary and wine and beer experiences."

Visitors are welcome to tour the cottages at an open house Tuesday afternoon from 3:30pm to 6:30 pm.

Availability begins August 12th. A week long reservation is required through Labor Day. Two night minimum stays are required from September 9th until October 28th, 2017.
