Governor Andrew Cuomo on Saturday announced additional security measures in the wake of the attacks in Paris that killed at least 129 people. He directed state agencies, including Homeland Security, State Police, the National Guard and the transportation authorities in NYC to be on a heightened state of alert.
Additional personnel are being deployed to high-density areas and large public gatherings. Cuomo says these are precautionary measures and not based on any specific intelligence linking the U.S. and the attacks in Paris.

On Friday night, Cuomo directed One World Trade Center to be lit in blue, white and red, and that display will continue Saturday and Sunday night in solidarity with the people of Paris. Additionally, the top of the Alfred E. Smith Building and the SUNY System Administration Building in Albany will also be lit in the French colors this weekend.
