Charlie Tan Case Will Be Back In Court For A Motion Hearing On Friday

TWC News

Even with a judge recently dismissing the murder charge in the Charlie Tan case, another proceeding is headed back to court on Friday.

Time Warner Cable News reports the Monroe County District Attorney’s office has filed paperwork asking the courts not to seal the trial records so that they can be available for a possible appeal.

The court record was sealed last week when Judge James Piampiano dismissed the charges against the 20 year old Tan, accused of killing his father, Jim Tan, last February.

The trial ended ended without a verdict and last week, Piampiano granted a motion to dimiss, saying that there wasn’t enough evidence.

The motion to unseal the trial records will be heard in court on Friday morning before Ontario County Court Judge William Kocher.
