A commercial building in Shortsville, Ontario County collapsed Saturday evening. No one was injured but more than half of the building on High Street came down.
According to Time Warner Cable News than 75 percent of this building has collapsed. The Shortsville fire chief says the snow load on the roof could be the cause.
It happened just before 6pm on Saturday. Just hours after a crew of workers left the building. No one was inside when the building collapsed. Two homes adjacent to the building were evacuated.
New Energy Works is a timber framer company they also specialize in custom cabinetry. About 15 people work in the building. The company is based in Farmington.
The fire chief tells Time Warner Cable News that the building damage is so severe this building will have to be demolished.
