A winter storm is bearing down on much of New York State, expected to hit late Tuesday night through Wednesday, and accumulations in the Rochester area are estimated to reach about 7 to 13 inches by the time the storm winds down. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Rochester area from 10:00 p.m. Tuesday to 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The snow is expected to start after Midnight on Tuesday night, and accumulate 3 to 5 inches by the morning, but the snow will be heavy at times on Wednesday, and forecasters say it could make for a messy morning commute on Wednesday. Several more inches of snow may accumulate during the day on Wednesday with temperatures in the 20s.
