There are at least three potential Democratic candidates for Monroe County Executive.
That according to the Democratic Committee's Executive Director Jamie Romeo, who confirms that Assemblyman Harry Bronson, former Brighton Town Supervisor Sandy Frankel (who ran unsuccessfully for the county executive position in 2011) and Carrie Andrews, the outgoing Democratic minority leader in the county legislature, have all expressed interest.
On Tuesday, Bronson told WXXI News that among the factors he is weighing is how much time a campaign would take away from his duties as an Assemblyman.
The Democratic Committee will formally designate a county executive candidate on May 21st, but it's expected that a front runner will emerge before that date, as various Democratic political committees hold their individual meetings.
The Republicans have already announced that Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo is their candidate to succeed Maggie Brooks, who is term limited and cannot run for a fourth term.
