SUNYGeneseo has a new president. The university today appointed Denise Battles to that position. She is currently provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Battles' appointment caps a 25-year career as a geologist, professor and higher education administrator.
She succeeds Christopher Dahl, who retired last year after 20 years at Geneseo.
Interim president Carol Long has led the college since Dahl's retirement and plans to return to her previous position as provost and vice president for academic affairs.
