Irondequoit Town Supervisor Adam Bello says when it comes to Medley Centre, he expects commitments to be honored, and any code violations be dealt with immediately.
The latest issue at the mall happened Sunday, when burst water pipes flooded part of the property.
Bello talked about the ongoing issues at Medley Centre Monday on WXXI's "Connections with Evan Dawson."
He says there are two main issues of concern right now with Medley Centre -- whether there are code violations that could pose a public safety threat, and if there's an issue with the property, first responders must be protected and the property deemed safe.
He says those two issues must be addressed immediately.
As for the proposed development, Bello says the owners of Medley Centre made a commitment to taxpayers to invest in the property in exchange for tax breaks.
He says it's clear those investments have not been made, and it's time those commitments were honored.
Bello adds the next step in this whole process may become a little clearer in two weeks, when the developers owe more PILOT payments.
He adds he couldn't be more frustrated at the lack of progress with this project.
