The Little Theatre among the local cultural organizations to temporarily close

The Little Theatre in Rochester has announced it will temporarily close to the public as of 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, in response to efforts to contain the coronavirus.

An announcement from the theater, which is operated by WXXI, says that The Little will suspend all film/music programming and is closing after the Saturday matinee screenings.

Patrons who have purchased tickets in advance have the following options:

  • Full refund.
  • Tickets will be honored for a later screening.
  • Conversion of the ticket costs to a tax-deductible donation to The Little Theatre.

There is no specific date yet for reopening, with The Little Theatre statement saying that, “We look forward to welcoming you back through our doors as soon as we safely can.”
Further updates will also be on The Little’s website, the little.org.

A number of area cultural institutions have announced temporary closures in recent days including The Strong museum, Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester Museum & Science Center and the George Eastman Museum. The Seneca Park Zoo also has temporarily closed.
