Bitter cold to continue for a while; Wind Chill Advisory south of Rochester

The bitterly cold weather is forecast to stick around for several days, with the highs in the low to mid-teens through the weekend, and a high of only 9 degrees on Monday, New Year’s Day.

Any breeze, of course, will make it feel colder, and there is a Wind Chill Advisory for Monroe County from 9pm Wednesday until Noon Thursday.

The wind could make it feel between -5 and -15 degrees  at times.

There is also a Wind Chill Advisory for several other counties in the region during that time period.

There is also a Winter Weather Advisory for counties including Monroe and Wayne for Wednesday until 7pm, with a few inches of snow closer to Rochester possible, but 4 to 8 inches in the most persistent snows near the lakefront.

And there is a Lake Effect Snow Warning until Wed. evening for Wayne and Wyoming Counties.
