A Wayne County manufacturing company is adding jobs. Governor Cuomo says that Ranger Design, a company which customizes commercial vans for storage and other uses, is adding 62 jobs and making a nearly $3 million investment for a new facility in the Town of Ontario.
The Montreal based company is also expected to generate $10 million in local purchases during its first year of operations.
Ranger Design first tested the U.S. market last year, setting up a small operation in Rochester. It has now decided to make a Wayne County facility its main manufacturing and distribution center in the U.S. and leave its engineering, accounting and human resources operations in Canada.
New York State is helping with the expansion by providing up to $400,000 in tax credits in return for the investment and job creation commitments. Wayne County is also assisting with various incentives including a loan of $300,000.
