More Flyers Promoting White Supremacist Website Dropped In Pittsford

Pittsford Town Supervisor Bill Smith says there’s been another round of leaflets promoting a white supremacist website dropped near some homes.

This time it was in the Knollwood Drive area. Earlier this week, the leaflets were dropped along Knickerbocker Road.

Smith says this latest batch of leaflets was spread around overnight Thursday into Friday.

“I think this is very disturbing, it’s disturbing  because of the message itself, there’s no place for that in Pittsford, or anywhere else for that matter; something being distributed in the middle of the night I think adds to the sinister nature of the entire thing.”

Smith says there's no place for the kinds of messages being promoted on this website.

“I’m very worried that this is intimidating to everyone and I think it might be especially intimidating to people who don’t fit the description of white people of European ancestry that the distributors of this literature are trying to reach and I think it’s all the more deplorable for that,” he told WXXI News.

Smith says while just leaving the leaflets on doorsteps or driveways may not be illegal, if it happens again he would like town residents to call the sheriff’s department at their non-emergency number, 311. Smith says if officials can find out who is involved in spreading the racist literature their names will be publicized.
