The Little Theatre is expanding its hours this week. The theater, operated by WXXI, had been open Friday through Sunday.

As of Thursday, July 8, it will be open Thursday through Sunday. Public relations coordinator Scott Pukos said that Thursday movies will have open captions.

"Right now, we’re only open for movies Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so when it expands and we add that Thursday date, Thursday will be our open caption night," Pukos said. "It means the captions are right on the screen and can’t be turned off. So everyone in the theater will see the captions."

Pukos also noted that The Little has reverted back to general admission seating.

“So this is what we did before the pandemic, we had the general admission. So yes, we just changed to something that was more familiar…and we still do encourage people to purchase the tickets in advance for the easiest convenience, but it’s kind of going back to what we did before,” Pukos said.

Pukos said that The Little is no longer requiring masks and physical distancing for people who are fully vaccinated.
