A federal court jury in Rochester on Friday morning found Richard Wilbern guilty of murder and robbery in connection with the 2003 incident at the Xerox Federal Credit Union in Webster.
Wilbern was arrested in 2016, accused of the shooting death of Raymond Batzel of Livingston County, and wounding another man, Joseph Doud of Rochester.
Officials said that Wilbern was wearing a disguise that included a wig and wearing a jacket with the letters “FBI” written on it.
The 59 year old Wilbern was convicted with the help of DNA evidence left on an umbrella that prosecutors say he had carried. Defense attorneys challenged the validity of that DNA evidence.
Wilbern, a former Xerox employee, will be sentenced in February.
