The owners of the Mendon kennels where 13 dogs died in a fire Sunday have made some comments in a Facebook post. Michelle and Bruce Coates are the owners of Add-En-On Kennels. Employees were able to save 25 to 30 of the dogs. The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
On the kennel's Facebook page, the owners posted this message:
"To all of our beloved family and friends of Add En On:
I know you are all wanting to hear from us, to say something. Bruce and I are in shock, numb, and saddened that we lost some of our "kids". Our hearts are broken......
My staff, are amazing. They saved so many lives, and we are thankful to have had them respond so quickly, and that they were not hurt.............they are all ok.
And to all our family, volunteers, veterinarians, former employees, other kennels, friends, runners, skiers, the fire department .......all of the wonderful and kind people we saw who came to lend support........we thank you. We are so eternally grateful to all of you.....you were wonderful to us and our dogs.
We do not know what else to say right now.....but we love you all.
Bruce, Michelle, Kevin, Jessie, Katie, Adam, Rachel,Rhyan, Cullen,Jessie and Kyle"
