Hill Haven nursing home to close this fall

Rochester Regional Health

Rochester Regional Health says it will be closing Hill Haven nursing home in Webster later this year.

Rochester Regional said on Tuesday that after serving the community for more than 40 years, the Hill Haven Rehabilitation and Transitional Care Center will be closing this fall.

Rochester Regional cites several factors in that decision including the growth of in-home and transitional senior living and health care options. It said that nursing homes across the country are experiencing similar patterns.

“New choices of care continue to emerge as more people seek alternatives to nursing homes—a trend that has been growing, even before the pandemic, which has impacted admissions,” said Jill Graziano, senior vice president of extended care at Rochester Regional Health. “As an integrated healthcare delivery system, we understand continuum of care is essential and Rochester Regional is positioned to meet the needs of many Hill Haven residents through our wide-range of personalized, comprehensive programs.”

Hill Haven has more than 170 residents. Rochester Regional said that it will be talking with residents and their families as they transition to one of the five other long-term care facilities within the health system, go back home or to other local nursing homes.

Rochester Regional also said that it is committed to keeping all of Hill Haven’s 350 staff members in positions throughout the health system.
