Former Monroe County Leg. President Named To Top Economic Development Post

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo has named  Jeff Adair to be the Director of the county's planning and development department; he will also function as the county's chief economic development officer.

Dinolfo had announced earlier this year there would be a nationwide search for the position which will also include Adair acting as executive director for COMIDA, the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency.

Adair is a former president of the county legislature; The Republican was term limited and could not run for re-election last year.

Dinolfo cited Adair's more than three decades of private sector business experience. That includes a stint as senior manager of regional sales for a large bakery product manufacturer.

Adair's appointment was also praised in comments from Danny Wegman and Anne Kress, who are co-chairs of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council.

The position has duties similar to those previously held by Judy Seil, who left the county to take a job in the private sector last year.
