Rochester School Board President Malik Evans says he will not seek a seventh term in that role next year.
In deciding not to seek a seventh term at board president for 2014, Evans issued a brief statement saying that it has been a "pleasure and an honor to serve as the board's president for the past six years. "
He says he is proud of the accomplishments that the board made while he was president and he looks forward to continued service with the other board members. Evans feels having a change in leadership from time to time can be a good thing for any organization.
Evans still has two years remaining on his term as a school board member, and he will continue to serve in that capacity.
