Local real estate agents say the booming market is making it difficult for many first-time homebuyers to participate. With homes selling for well over asking price, many buyers are being pushed out of the process.

- Tysharda Thomas, associate broker with New 2 U Homes LLC, and co-chair of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors Black Caucus
- Lynette Hernandez, first-time homebuyer
