The Little Theatre announces COVID-19 vaccination requirement

Scott Pukos/The Little Theatre

The Little Theatre in Rochester is changing its policy on COVID-19 guidelines for people visiting the historic venue.

As of October 20, COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for all patrons 12 years and older at The Little Theatre. That includes all of the theaters in the complex, theaters 1-5 and the Little Cafe.

Proof of vaccination, along with a photo ID, will be needed to attend any screening, concert, or event at The Little. A mask  worn over the mouth and nose  will be required to enter the facility. Masks may be removed when seated, and eating and drinking.

Theater staff, volunteers, musicians, and performers will also be vaccinated and wear masks at all times.

The Little staff will continue to monitor and follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), New York State Department of Health, along with the Monroe County Health Department.

Officials with the theater, which is operated by WXXI, say that additional operational adjustments may be made as the situation evolves.

Before retiring in March 2025, Randy Gorbman was WXXI's director of news and public affairs and managed the day-to-day operations of WXXI News on radio, television, and online.
