Festival Honors Budding Filmmakers

Tonight, a special event at the Little Theatre celebrates the work of young, local filmmakers.

The 2015 Rochester Teen Film Festival features a number of genres including documentaries, animation, and a narrative thriller, and covers issues from homelessness and the environment to friendship and evolution.

Laurel Gable has produced three films that are finalists in the competition.

She is a recent graduate of Pittsford-Mendon High School.  Click on the audio link above to hear about how she started making films and her entries in tonight's festival.

The Rochester Teen Film Festival is tonight at 5:30 at the Little Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.  It's brought to you by WXXI, the Little, and Nazareth College.

Beth Adams joined WXXI as host of Morning Edition in 2012 after a more than two-decade radio career. She was the longtime host of the WHAM Morning News in Rochester. Her career also took her from radio stations in Elmira, New York, to Miami, Florida.
