The Buffalo Bills made it official today, hiring Rex Ryan as their new coach.
The move comes less than two weeks after Doug Marrone opted out of his contract.
Susan Gemmett is president of the Buffalo Bills Backers of Rochester.
She says she thought the team would take more time before hiring a new coach.
But Ryan brings plenty of experience to the post, and a lot of character, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, according to Gemmett.
Gemmett says Ryan will probably find Buffalo a little more media-friendly than New York, but he'll also find out just how passionate Bills fans are.
She adds based on what's available, and his experience, Rex Reed is a decent choice for the job.
It's just surprising the team didn't take more time in making this decision.
