The Rochester area has dodged the latest storm that started in the South and moved up the East Coast. But the same can't be said for local air travelers.
Jennifer Hanrahan, spokesperson for the Greater Rochester International Airport, says 32 percent of the arriving and departing flights scheduled in Rochester were canceled today. "Anytime there are storms that affect the major hubs like Atlanta or Washington, D.C., for Rochester, because we're a spoke and we're at the end of that spoke. There is that domino effect. If the flights can't make it out of those major hubs, they can't get to the feeder airports like Rochester."
As always, Hanrahan says it's best to check with your airline for information on your specific flight before you head to the airport.
