Wegmans Again Ranked Among Top Grocers

Sales at Wegmans Supermarkets are again ranked among the top in the country according to an industry monitor.

Sales at Wegmans' 88-stores in 2015 totaled an estimated $7.9 billion - compare with more than $100 billion by the largest pure-grocery chain, Krogers. Statistics are from the annual ranking by the industry-watching Supermarket News.

Wegmans is 33rd among grocery sellers in the US and Canada.

The list includes consumables and food sold by national drug stores, discount stores and dollar stores.

You may be aware of some of the companies ranked ahead of Wegmans: Rite Aid, BJs, Dollar Tree, Aldis, Trader Joe's, 7-11, Whole Foods, Walgreen, Target, CVS, Costco and top ranked Walmart.

Wegmans continues to grow, with plans to add three stores in Virginia and another in Maryland by next fall.
