Memorial Day Ceremonies on Monday

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the American Legion Post in Greece presented a Memorial Day Ceremony at Braddock Bay Monday.
Victoria Ferris from Greece Post 468 told the story of Corporal Jason Dunham, the upstate marine who jumped on a live grenade to save his fellow marines.
She said Memorial Day is a time to honor the memory of those who have given everything for their country.

Elsewhere, two Irondequoit High School students peformed Taps during a Memorial Day Ceremony Monday at the town's cemetary.
Several dozen people, including veterans, town officials, and the Irondequoit Police Honor Guard paid their respects to our war dead.
Veteran Peter Fantigrossi, Commander of the American Legion Post #134 said this was also a day to honor policeman and firefighters, too.
Monday marked the 85th Memorial Day ceremony in the town of Irondequoit.
