The U.S. Attorney’s office says that a second suspect pleaded guilty in a multi-million dollar mortgage fraud scheme in Western New York.
Authorities say that 35-year-old Patrick Ogiony of Buffalo plead guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
Officials say that between March 2011 and June 2017, Ogiony conspired with his co-defendants to defraud financial institutions, by providing false information overstating the incomes of properties owned by Morgan Management or certain principals of Morgan Management.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says that Ogiony admitted the properties included several in the Rochester area, as well as other parts of New York State, as well as Pennsylvania, Illinois, Texas, and North and South Carolina.
Another defendant, Kevin Morgan, previously was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and is awaiting sentencing. Charges remain pending against Frank Giacobbe and Todd Morgan.
Kevin Morgan is the nephew of developer Robert Morgan. Todd Morgan is Robert Morgan’s son.
Robert Morgan has not been implicated in this case, Ogiony will be sentenced at a later date.
