There will be some delays on a portion of the NYS Thruway in the Rochester area this week.
National Grid will begin replacing overhead utility lines that cross I-90 near milepost 346.1 between exits 43 (Manchester – Palmyra – NY Route 21) and 44 (Canandaigua – Victor – NY Route 332). This critical work by National Grid will require periodic traffic slowdowns lasting no more than 15 minutes on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Thruway.
According to the Thruway Authority, the schedule for the slowdowns is as follows:
- Monday, March 6 – One slowdown beginning at 12 pm
- Wednesday, March 8 – Three slowdowns beginning at 10 am
- Saturday, March 11 – Four slowdowns beginning at 6:30 am
- Sunday, March 12 – Four slowdowns beginning at 6:30 am
The eastbound slowdowns will begin at the rest area at milepost 353 between exits 46 (Rochester – Corning – I-390) and 45 (Rochester – Victor – I-490).
The westbound slowdowns will begin at milepost 340.51 at exit 43 (Manchester – Palmyra – NY Route 21).
New York State Police Troop T and Thruway Traffic Safety personnel will be on site coordinating the slowdowns while National Grid completes their work.
