One person dead, three wounded after shots fired in a Rochester parking lot

UPDATE: On Monday afternoon Rochester Police released more details about the incident that happened early Monday morning in the Walmart parking lot on Hudson Avenue, where one person was fatally shot and three others were injured.

RPD has identified the man who died as 18-year-old Angel Gonzalez-Pagan.

And police now say that a 15-year-old girl who initially was described as having gunshot wounds, was not shot. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution since she was near the gunfire.

Among the other people hit by bullets is a 43-year-old male still in critical condtion; and two men with non-life threatening wounds, including a 23-year-old and a 31-year-old.

Officers say in total there were almost 50 gunshots fired in the incident reported just before 1:00 a.m.

Police say the initial investigation shows there were several hundred people gathered in the parking lot when a fight broke out.

Police are still trying to determine if those involved in the fight had anything to do with the shots being fired, or if the shots were fired as the result of  a separate fight in the parking lot.
