Jewish Federation moving from longtime location

Jewish Community Federation of Greater Rochester Logo

The Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester is moving. But it’s not going too far away. The federation, which is involved in philanthropy, education and advocacy, is leaving a building it has owned and occupied on East Avenue near Sibley Place for 45 years.

The federation will move to the Farash Building on East Avenue in the East End, where it will lease space along with other non-profit organizations located there including the RPO.

CEO Meredith Dragon says the new space makes more sense for the organization in terms of the layout, and she says the federation is not looking to own a building anymore. The organization employs about 25 people. They are moving this weekend to 255 East Avenue.

Before retiring in March 2025, Randy Gorbman was WXXI's director of news and public affairs and managed the day-to-day operations of WXXI News on radio, television, and online.
