Jimmy Catalano, "Mayor of Park Avenue," Has Died

The man affectionately known by many as the "Mayor of Park Avenue" in Rochester has died.

Jimmy Catalano died Saturday at the age of 60 after a battle with bladder cancer.

Hundreds of people visited Catalano in the week after he announced he was nearing the end of the fight with cancer.

Catalano had been a florist for more than 30 years.

According to the Democrat & Chronicle, funeral arrangements have been set at DiPonzio Funeral Home in Gates, with calling hours Tuesday, May 31 from 6 to 8 pm; and on  Wednesday, June 1 from Noon to 2pm and 6 to 8pm.

There will be a Mass Thursday, June 2nd, 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament on Oxford St. in Rochester.
