After months of detours, the St. Paul Street bridge underpass near the inner loop in Rochester is now open to traffic.
Time Warner Cable News says the section underneath the railroad bridge was closed to vehicles last year as crews worked to strengthen the bridge to handle new railroad tracks.
The NYS DOT says the work had to be done in stages because of active rail traffic.
The construction now moves down a block to the bridge underpass on North Clinton Avenue at Central Avenue. That underpass is now closed to vehicle traffic in both directions.
It will remain closed through April. Detours are posted.
