Connections: ISIS Recruiting in ROC; 5k to Honor Teacher

In the first part of the show, new charges were filed against Mufid Elfgeeh, he’s accused of recruiting for ISIS. It’s believed he may be the first person in the U.S. to be charged with recruiting for ISIS. Elfgeeh was arrested earlier this year after he bought guns as part of a plan to kill members of the military returning from war, and Shiites in the Rochester area. So how did the feds know that Elfgeeh was doing all of this, and could there be others? We answer these questions and more with Democrat & Chronicle Reporter Gary Craig.

Then we talk about the Iron Angel 5k taking place September 28, to honor Heather Boyum. Race Director Bonnie Venton joins us to talk about this year’s race.
