This week continues the harsh weather pattern we've been seeing lately, including bitterly cold temperatures and some snow.

The early morning commute on Monday got off to a rough start with a period of heavy snow and strong winds. Although there isn't expected to be a lot of accumulation, it made for very tricky driving on area roads especially on those in open areas.  There were a number of accidents around the area.

The falling temperature will be the longer lasting problem, with a wind chill warningin effect from 3:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. With wind gusts to 45mph, that could mean wind chills around 25 below zero at times overnight into Tuesday.

There were a number of school delays due to the snowy weather Monday, you can check the list here.

The temperature on Monday, which started out in the 20s, will fall to the low teens by late afternoon. The low at night will be around zero, and on Tuesday, even with some sunshine, the high will only be around 9 above.

Temperatures should get back to the 20s by the end of the week.
