The National Weather Service on Saturday canceled the winter storm warning that was in effect for Rochester and surrounding areas. Instead, there is a lake snow advisory for parts of Monroe County.
Areas near Lake Ontario could see 3 to 5 inches of snow Saturday night, with strong winds causing some visibility problems for travelers.
There is also a lake snow warning for parts of Wayne and Cayuga Counties. There could be 5 to 10 inches of snow in the most persistent snow bands over the weekend.
There is a winter weather advisory for parts of Wayne and Wyoming counties, and there is a wind chill advisory for several communities in our region including Rochester from midnight on Saturday until noon on Sunday, with the winds making it feel as cold as 15 below zero at times.
