Man Who Lived At Rowley St. House Where Body Was Found Is Facing Charges

More information has been released about the human remains found in the backyard of a house at 27 Rowley Street.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the body discovered there is that of 31 year old Matthew Straton, the city man who had gone missing last October. His brother had told reporters Thursday morning that police told the family Wednesday night they believed the body was his.

And Rochester Police have charged the man who lived there, William Lewek.  The 62 year old Lewek has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with tampering with physical evidence, both felonies.

Lewek is listed in property records as the owner of the property. He is also listed on various websites as a psychiatrist.

Lewek will be arraigned Friday morning and police say the investigation is continuing.
