Man Sought In Henrietta Said To Be In Custody

Monroe County Sheriffs Department

Reports indicate that the situation involved a report of an armed man in Henrietta has been resolved. Sheriff's Deputies and State Police were searching the area since Wednesday night after reportedly getting a call about a man with a knife who may have been suicidal. That was near West Henrietta Road.

Some residents in the area got automated calls from police to alert them of what was going on, and a police perimeter was set up between Telephone and Erie Station Roads.

Rush Henrietta Schools were put on a two hour delay Thursday morning as a precaution. As of 8:00 a.m., the district issued an update saying that buses are picking up Rush-Henrietta and private/parochial students two hours after their usual time. Because of the shortened morning, AM kindergarten was canceled. PM kindergarten will continue as scheduled.
