Rochester Regional Health officials say that Constellation Brands President & CEO Robert Sands, the Sands family foundations and Constellation Brands have made a $20 million gift commitment in support of the construction of a new building on the Rochester General Hospital campus.
The new building will be named the Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care.
It is the largest donation in the hospital’s history. It is also the lead gift in Rochester Regional’s newly announced $300 million comprehensive campaign. The campaign will be chaired by Sands, who is a current member of the Rochester Regional Health Board.
The new building will house 128 adaptable rooms, 23 operating rooms, and 14 special care nursery rooms.
Construction is expected to begin next year and be completed in 2021.
