Monroe County Republicans have a candidate for County Clerk. She is Cheryl Rozzi who is currently the Greece Town Clerk.
County Republican Chairman Bill Reilich, who is also Greece Town Supervisor, made the announcement, saying that Rozzi has a wealth of experience, not only as clerk, but also her previous position as Clerk of the Monroe County Legislature. She says she has more than 14 years of clerking experience.
He says Rozzi also had operated a local small business for nearly 10 years. Rozzi issued a statement saying that she is not a politician and is someone who believes that “delivering real results for this community is the top priority.”
She is expected to face Democrat Adam Bello in this fall’s election. Bello was appointed County Clerk earlier this year by Governor Cuomo, and left his job as Irondequoit Town Supervisor.
The County Clerk's job is open after Cheryl Dinolfo took office this year as County Executive.
